The Creature isn’t threatening Victor. He’s reasoning with him. Shelley wrote this when she was eighteen, in a rented house in Switzerland during a summer so cold and dark they spent it indoors telling ghost stories. The argument the Creature makes is airtight: you made me, abandoned me, and withheld everything that might have softened me. Fear was the last thing keeping me small. Now that’s gone too. Not rage. A logical conclusion.
