Well Done — Franklin Philosophy Long Sleeve Tee
Franklin packed Poor Richard's Almanack with proverbs because he understood how ideas travel — not in speeches, but on the tongues of ordinary people going about their days. "Well done is better than well said" was written for people who had no patience for the alternative.
Benjamin Franklin
“Well done is better than well said.”
Poor Richard’s Almanack, 1737
Franklin didn’t waste words. He acted. He was already living this when he wrote it — printer, inventor, scientist, diplomat, all before most people had settled on one thing. Talk is everywhere. Execution is rare.
This tee is for the people who finish what they start.
The Design
WELL and DONE arrive large on the chest — but not the same. WELL is white; DONE is crimson. The contrast is the point.
Below them, IS BETTER THAN runs small in caps, a bridge. Then well said drops in flowing script — the thing being measured against, given its own softer voice. Large quotation marks frame the whole composition.
Franklin was a printer before he was a founding father. He understood that how something is set changes what it means.
Who It’s For
People who never celebrate their wins. Those who finish hard work and immediately move to the next thing without pausing. Franklin’s reminder: track your progress honestly, acknowledge what you did right, then keep going.
Well done. Mean it.
